Greenfield Scientific Herbal Clinic has launched its ambulance services as part of efforts to provide efficient emergency healthcare to the residents in Teshie-Nungua and its environs.
Worth GH¢200, 000, the ambulance service would improve on the clinic’s facilities to become an industry leader as far as herbal healthcare provision is concerned.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Ambulance Service, Prof. Zakaria Ahmed Nuhu, who spoke at the event, commended Greenfields Herbal Clinic for the initiative, which he described as a novelty.
“This facility cannot be completed without an ambulance which would take care of the out of hospital emergency care aspect of healthcare in Ghana,” he stated.
Prof. Ahmed Nuhu indicated that activities of health facilities such as Greenfields Herbal Clinic complement government’s efforts in providing healthcare to Ghanaians across the country.
“The state alone would not be able to deliver healthcare, so we need private entities like Greenfield to come on board to support,” he said.
He encouraged managers of Greenfield to work towards making the facility a one-stop-shop for healthcare in Ghana.
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Greenfield Herbal Clinic, Dr. Bright Okoh, said the ambulance would address the challenge of conveying patients to the facility by means that eventually worsens their plights.
“Patients are brought to the facility by motorbikes, taxis and sometimes trucks which can even worsen their condition, while in some cases patients need immediate referral to government hospitals for treatment,” he stated.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Krowor, Joshua Nii Bortey, also praised Greenfield for the initiative.
