GUTA Courts Nana’s Support

Nana Akufo-Addo

The Ghana Union of Traders’ Association (GUTA) has called on President-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to collaborate with it to enhance the socio-economic development of the country.

In a congratulatory message issued yesterday and signed by its General Secretary, Alpha Abdullah Shaban, GUTA explained that “it is our fervent hope that he will always remember the private sector as the engine of growth of every economy and work in close collaboration with us to create an enabling business environment for the country.”

GUTA expressed the belief that a fruitful collaboration between the president-elect and businesses would help enhance the private sector.

It said, “We cannot help but express our profound admiration for the high-level of maturity, coupled with the patience, tolerance, perseverance and the exemplary leadership quality he exhibited before and during his electioneering campaign that won him the landslide victory over other contestants.”

TUC Ready For Partnership

Meanwhile, the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has indicated that it’s looking forward to partnering Mr. Addo to rebuild the collapsed economy.

TUC, in a statement signed by its General Secretary, Yaw Baah said, “We congratulate Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and the NPP on their electoral victory.”

“The TUC and Organised Labour stand ready to work with the new administration to ensure that the economy of Ghana continues on a path of growth and that the interests of workers and their families are fully promoted,” the statement said.
