Hassan Ayariga has once again been disqualified
The presidential nominee of the All People’s Party (APC), failed to meet the requirements needed to enable him appear on the ballot paper for the December 7 polls according to the commission.
This comes after Ghana’s Supreme Court has tasked the EC to give the candidates it had ealier disqualified a second chance at correcting their anomalies.
The earlier disqualified candidates, apart from Hassan Ayariga, also included nominees of National Democratic Party (NDP) Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom Progressive People’s Party (PPP), People’s National Convention’s (PNC) Dr Edward Mahama.
The forms of Dr. Nduom, Nana Konadu and Dr. Mahama were duly accepted by the Electoral Commission.
They would join candidates such as Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo of New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ivor Greenstreet of Convention People’s Party (CPP), National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) John Mahama and independent candidate Jacob Osei Yeboah to contest for the presidential seat come December 7th.
