THE ACCRA West District of House of Faith Ministries (HOFM) has organised a free health screening exercise for the people around Achimota in Accra.
The exercise, which was done in collaboration with the M&G, DAS, Indus Health Sciences, Gokals, Pharmacy Royale and Zipharm pharmaceutical companies, was patronised by more than 1,000 people drawn from various communities, including Alogboshie.
The beneficiaries were screened for various ailments, including diabetes, malaria, blood pressure and hepatitis, and benefited from free drugs, whilst others with severe conditions were referred to other health facilities for treatment.
Senior Pastor of HOFM Jesus Haus branch, Rev. Joshua Dzramado said the exercise formed part of the church’s celebration of the passion and resurrection of Christ with the Destiny Focus Incorporated (DFI).
He entreated the beneficiaries to ensure regular check-up and exercise for good health, while encouraging them to submit themselves for counselling.
He praised the pharmaceutical companies for their medical supplies and the doctors for their voluntary service in making the programme a success.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked the church for the kind gesture and appealed for more such programmes.
“For them to screen us of these diseases and give us free medicines, snacks and even dresses for our children mean a lot to us. May the Lord give them back whatever they have spent on us,” Daavi Adzo, one of the beneficiaries stated.
The Christ Festival programme was the maiden Easter celebration instituted by the Accra West District of House of Faith Ministries, and featured a float, a home-to-home prayer outreach, and two nights of mega crusade, as well as health screening and Easter Sunday thanksgiving service.
