Writing a column is a heavy responsibility. Sometimes you just go blank and are unable to settle on a topic.
My interactions with journalists who earn a living by writing, and prolific writers such as Prof. Kwesi Yankah, Madam Elizabeth Ohene and Ebo Quansah reveal that my assignment is not going to be all that smooth.
I cannot pretend to be prolific like these acknowledged columnists but one thing I know is, I have a very sharp pen that can cut like a razor. And when I put you on the spotlight, trust me, the grimace on your face would be like someone who has swallowed quinine.
I also know what is friendly fire and so in most cases the conversation here would be on a friendly tone. But there is so much water making its way under the bridge to the extent that some of our compatriots must be told to stay clear of the red line.
This year which is a Leap Year is a year of many marathons and I warn the faint hearted to prepare for the heats and hurdles. So far, some of our compatriots have ran successful marathons, singing and cooking for many hours. But Delay, I look forward to your ‘Kiss-a-thon’.
How will it play out and where is the venue because I want to be the Number One Cheer Leader. Our stress levels are quite high because of the economic difficulties, and that is why we need interventions that put the smiles back on our faces even if for a temporary period.

Hello Dr. Ato Forson, Minority Leader, are you in your opposition corner and minded to swallow some of your pride to apologise to the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta for the unpalatable things you said about him after the presentation of the 2024 budget in November last year?
Dr. Forson, do you believe Ofori Atta has helped to turn the corner? Sometimes the incoherent arguments of the Minority Leader make some of us wonder the rationale behind the replacement of the brilliant Haruna Iddrisu who is so affable and able to win the hearts of those opposed to the NDC inclinations. Perhaps, the NDC must engage a linguistic doctor for some of its leaders.
There is a problem too facing the Special Prosecutor who has in recent time being chasing shadows in the name of fighting corruption. Maybe, some prosecution-a – thon will help Mr. Kissi Agyebeng to come to terms with the demands of the high office.
To be seen to be working, the Special Prosecutor tries to follow mirages that end up not yielding the desired results. Litigations he knows is time consuming and expensive.
It would serve his purpose if the Special Prosecutor resists the media blitz and focuses on his core mandate. So far, it is difficult to point to a case that the OSP has dealt with in order for public officers to know that corruption is a risky endeavour.
By the way, what is the status of the OSP’s investigations into the alleged spraying of money on delegates by an aspirant in the NDC parliamentary primaries at Ejura Sekyeredumase in May last year? I heard the masked man, Cheddar who wants to be President too paid a courtesy call on former President Mahama. Interesting times ahead during the run up to December 7, 2024.
But who is Cheddar? We shall unmask him during the electioneering. Ghanaians know what they want even under the present day economic setbacks.
In spite of predictions by global financial institutions that that the world is not out of the economic challenges, I hold the view that the challenges are surmountable.
We just need to do more marathons to break the back of challenges that appear to deter our national resolve and can-do spirit. And apologies to President Akufo-Addo, “this too shall pass.”
