I Snubbed Okyeame Kwame- Gyedu Blay Ambolley

Gyedu Blay Ambolley, Okyeame Kwame

Veteran Ghanaian highlife musician, Gyedu Blay Ambolley, has declared in an interview with Joy News that he is now ready to provide evidence to claims that Ghanaian rapper Okyeame Kwame had misappropriated MUSIGA funds.

He also said that he intentionally snubbed Okyeame Kwame last year when he was chasing him (Ambolley) with writ of summons because he was gathering evidence to prove that he (Okyeame) embezzled MUSIGA funds.

“As am standing here, I have gathered enough evidence that proves that I did not fabricate any story to dent the reputation of rapper Okyeame Kwame. I snubbed his summons last year because I was gathering evidence to prove my case,” he said.

“I haven’t insulted you that you’ve gone to steal. Taking a loan and, you junior rapper wants to take a senior rapper, senior singer and senior composer to court. I will prove him wrong,” he added.

According to Gyedu Blay, he has a list of musicians who benefited from the GH¢50, 000 loans the then MUSIGA president Obour gave them.

He, however, expressed disappointment in Okyeame Kwame whom he described as a ‘Junior Rapper’ for dragging him to court over his loan assertions.

He promised to go to the court on February 18, 2022 to face Okyeame Kwame over his lawsuit to prove his statements.

The legendary musician further indicated that if he wins the case brought against him by Okyeame Kwame in court, he (Okyeame) would have to see him for issues to be resolved, or else he will sue him.

In 2020, Okyeame Kwame took to Facebook to serve fellow musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley with a writ.

He sued Gyedu Blay Ambolley for some comments he made in an interview with MzGee on 3FM that he did not pay back a loan of GH¢50,000 the Obour administration gave to him from the coffers of the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

Okyeame Kwame, through his lawyers, served notice to Ambolley to retract the comments and apologise through the same medium he used within 72 hours.

Due to Ambolley’s refusal to retract the comments, Okyeame Kwame took the matter to court.
