Music star, Adina Thembi, has shared the challenges she faced growing up, revealing that she was often unfairly judged by her community due to her fair skin.

Speaking on Property FM in Cape Coast, the ‘Killing Me Softly’ singer recounted how her appearance led to negative labels.

“Growing up, because I am fair-skinned when a lot of people see me at first glance, they judge me to be disrespectful,” Adina explained, shedding light on the assumptions people made about her character.

She went on to say, “I’ve had instances where people in the area would tell my mother to keep a close eye on me just because I was very fair in complexion.”

This societal pressure deeply affected Adina, who described the emotional pain of being unfairly treated.

“When my mother used to tell me about the complaints she had received about me, I felt so hurt because I was just an innocent young girl,” she continued, reflecting on the lasting impact of these experiences.

“But just because of the way God has created me, the moment you set your eyes on me, you’d conclude that I’d be a very bad girl or disrespectful,” she concluded.
