Sheikh IC Quaye
Sheikh IC Quaye has returned from a Muslim World League conference in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The former Greater Accra Regional Minister and Chairman of the Ghana Hajj Board was invited for the all-important conference in his capacity as a member of the Supreme Council of the Muslim World League.
The engagement, being the forty sixth session of the organisation, brought together members from across the world.
In his brief yet poignant address to the gathering, Sheikh IC Quaye prayed for a renewal of faith at the end of the Ramadan fasting.
He narrated his efforts at ensuring interfaith harmony between Muslims and members of other faiths. “Having instituted successfully the international Muslim-Christian Symposium in the capital, Accra, well attended by leaders from the Christian, African traditionalist and Muslims, I am happy to report that the impact has been tremendous as the country continues to hold an enviable record of religious tolerance,” he said.
He recalled his Islamic Centre for Education and Development NGO disseminating the deliberations of the Secretary General led delegation as well as the government’s led by Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, in its newletter, Al Risalah.
“I am happy to announce to you Your Excellencies members of the Muslim World League that, by the Grace of Allah, insha Allah the Vice President you met and sat with at the symposium, has been confirmed by both Christians and Muslims as the flagbearer of the ruling party and will be the first Muslim to be elected President of Ghana, insha Allah, in December,” he told his audience.
