The Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana (IIPGH), a professional association of experts from different areas of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), has celebrated its 8th anniversary in Accra.

This year’s celebration themed, “Transforming Lives through ICT, Eight Years of Impact and Inspiration”, saw the presence of various stakeholders and partners to celebrate the milestone.

IIPGH outgoing Executive Director, David Gowu, explained that the goals of the IIPGH were to foster collaboration among ICT professionals, drive digital transformation, and create an ecosystem that nurtures innovation and professional excellence. These goals have not only been realized but have now expanded to include other disciplines such as journalism, agribusiness marketing, and healthcare.

“Today I am proud to acknowledge that our vision has not only taken root but has grown into a formidable force that integrates ICT with other professional disciplines including marketing journalism, agribusiness, and healthcare,” he explained.

He expressed his profound gratitude to all those who stood beside him from the inception stage till now. He wished the incoming Executive Director, Kafui Amanfu, well in all his future endeavours, explaining that he had faith that Kafui would take the institutions to greater heights.

Dr. Samuel Antwi Gyekyi in a speech read on behalf of the Minister of Communication, Digital Technology, and Innovations, Samuel Nartey George, acknowledged the great work of the institution and stated that the government was poised and ready to work with the institution.

Incoming Executive Director of IIPGH, Kafui Amanfu explained that he was ready to take the institutions to new levels of success.

He also urged the government to invest and prioritise the tech sector, as technology has become integral to all aspects of life.
