Paul Yandoh
PAUL YANDOH, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), has stated categorically that he is not a comedian.
“I’m not a comedian and I don’t do concert”, he declared, while responding to a question that section of the public have labeled him as a comedian on Hello Fm in Kumasi.
Paul Yandoh is noted for making comic remarks, especially, when defending the NPP in the media. His unique style of communication has attracted diverse public opinions.
Whilst some believe that his style of communication has made him popular, other people also see his style as being overly jovial, hence they have labeled him as a comedian.
Commenting about the issue while speaking with King Edward of Hello fm in Kumasi, he said he doesn’t do “concert” so nobody should label him as a comedian.
Explaining his style of communication, Paul Yandoh said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) became too aggressive after winning the 2024 polls, thereby making some NPP communicators afraid.
According to him, he realized that the NDCs aggressive nature was adversely affecting the NPPs communications so he decided to change his communication style to restore the public’s love for the NPP.
He, however, said his strategic decision to use some comic jargons to send the NPPs message across in the media, was unfortunately labeled as ‘concert’ by a section of the public.
“After the 2024 election defeat, the NDC was too aggressive and it somehow sent some fear into our communicators. Our communication went down a bit due to the feat.
“I therefore devised a strategy to communicate to help restore the party’s influence. My car has been broken into twice but I still communicate irrespective of the threats”.
Paul Yandoh also said his communication style, loaded with comic utterances, was a strategic move to help bring down the anger in the party members after losing political power.
“I will never run down the level of our communication as a political party in this region”, he stated emphatically and pointed out that nobody should think he is a comedian.
