The flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has announced his readiness to lead an effective and spirited campaign, intimating that the party has a “solid track record and a good campaign message” for the 2024 general election.
Speaking at a meeting with the NPP’s parliamentary candidates in orphan constituencies, Dr. Bawumia said the NPP will win this year’s elections by the grace of God, through hard work and unity.
According to him, the parliamentary candidates will serve as “anchors of the NPP’s victory” in their respective constituencies.
“We have a solid track record and a good campaign message, and I am well prepared to lead an effective and spirited campaign,” he stressed.
“I have observed at first hand the enthusiasm and readiness of the party’s parliamentary candidates, and I am confident that the party will win the 2024 general election and also secure a clear parliamentary majority,” NPP flagbearer noted.
Dr. Bawumia was accompanied by the party’s National Chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim and the leadership of the 2024 National Campaign Team.
Regional Campaign Teams
Meanwhile, the NPP is set to begin the inauguration of regional campaign teams today and is expected to end on Sunday, March 24, 2024.
General Secretary of the NPP, Justin Kodua Frimpong, in a memo to all Regional Executive Committees of the party, said the National Campaign Coordinating Committee had designated a six-member team to inaugurate the various regional campaign teams.
“The regional campaign teams shall be inaugurated at a regional delegate conference,” he added.
The memo explained that Fred Oware would lead the Team 1 to inaugurate the Eastern, Volta and Oti Regional Campaign Teams.
Other members of Oware’s team are Danquah Smith Buttey, Henry Nana Boakye, Adjei Sowah, Agnes Eshun, and Afua Akoto.
The memo indicated that Team 2 would be led by Dan Botwe to inaugurate the Bono East, Ahafo, Bono and Ashanti Regional Campaign Teams.
Other members of the Team 2 are Dr. Charles Dwamena, Kate Gyamfuah, William Yamoah, Amma Frimpomaa Dwumah and Dr. Kwasi Nyame Baafi.
The NPP General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, will lead the Team 3 which will inaugurate the Greater Accra, Central, Western, and Western North Regional Campaign Teams.
Other members of the team are Alhaji Masawudu Osman, Salam Mohammed Mustapha, Anthony Karbo, Maame Yaa Dufie, Afua Gyekyewaa,
Team 4 will be led by Frederick Opare Ansah to Savannah, Upper East, Upper West, Northern, and North East.
Other members of the team are Rita Asobayire, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, Salifu Saed, Haruna Mohammed, and Perpetual Lomokie Akwada.
“The regional party is hereby urged to liaise with their respective Team leaders to select dates and venues for the inauguration of their various regional campaign coordinating teams,” the memo urged.
It said the regional campaign coordinating team shall comprise the Regional Chairman (head), Regional Minister (deputy head), Regional Secretary (Secretary) to the regional campaign team.
