The Iranian business community has expressed its readiness to invest in Ghana, especially in the Northern region.
This comes after the Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed, paid a courtesy call on the Iranian Ambassador to Ghana Dr Nasrollahi Maleki, to discuss business opportunities and investment potentials in the region.
The regional minister pledged to attract investors to the region and also promote local business and investors.
He reiterated his commitment to addressing the issues of poverty and unemployment in the region.
Mr Salifu Sa-eed lauded the Iranian government for its support to the Northern Region over the years through the ARD projects and provision of scholarship to students from the Northern Region.
He stressed the need to strengthen the partnership and collaboration in the areas of health care support, education and agricultural development.
The first batch of businessmen is expected to visit the Northern Region soon to conduct a feasibility study.
He, therefore, appealed to the Minister to give them all the support when they arrive in the country.
Mr Salifu Sa-eed was accompanied by Ghana’s Ambassador to Iran, Alhaji Sayuti Yahaya Iddi and some DCEs in the Northern Region.
The Iranian team thanked the Regional Minister for the confidence reposed in them and assured him that Iranian investors and businessmen would explore the investment opportunities in the region.
