IShowSpeed in a pose with Okuapemhene
World leading streamer, IShowSpeed, has ended his Ghana tour following a spectacular celebration of culture, tradition and showmanship.
His experience in Ghana was a wild ride, meeting personalities like the Okuapemhene Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo, Member of Parliament for Akuapim North, Sammi Awuku, among other selected dignitaries.
IShowSpeed was given a new Ghanaian name, Barima Kofi Akuffo, during a traditional Akan naming ceremony in the Eastern Region of Ghana led by the Okuapemhene. The name carries significant cultural meaning: Barima signifies a brave and noble man, Kofi represents a male born on a Friday, symbolising peace and fertility, and Akuffo is a respected Akan family name symbolising heritage and connection.
Following his arrival in Accra on January 25, 2026, he was greeted with a rousing welcome at Kotoka International Airport, complete with stunt riders and a convoy of bikers.
During his visit, he explored various landmarks, including the Black Star Square, where he performed a daring backflip, and the Bukom Boxing Arena, where he showcased his boxing skills with local boxer Braimah Kamoko, aka Bukom Banku.
He also immersed himself in Ghanaian culture, trying local dishes like jollof rice, participating in a traditional naming ceremony, and receiving a Ghanaian kente cloth. IShowSpeed even revealed he has Ghanaian roots, sparking excitement among fans.
