Bernard Kojo Allotey Jacobs
Former Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Bernard Kojo Allotey Jacobs, has denied media reports suggesting that he has resigned from the party.
According to him, the report claiming that he has resigned is nothing but fake news.
In a statement in reaction to the report published on www.richieonline.com, Mr. Allotey Jacobs said “I want to state clearly and unambiguously that I haven’t resigned from the NDC, and that the story circulating around is a fake news.”
He stated that “my commitment to the NDC is unquestionable despite my avowed aim to stand for what is truth and godly, as for the insults coming from the party I will swallow them in good faith knowing very well that I don’t eat crumbs from the table of men believing that The Lord is my Shepard He will never let me be wanting For all my years in politics God has been my solace and victory will always smile on me.”
The basis of the ‘fake’ news, DGN Online, understands, is the demand by some party members for Mr. Allotey Jacobs to be dismissed from the NDC for his natilnalistic comments.
Just last week he was reported saying on radio that Nana Akufo-Addo cannot be tagged corrupt contrary to his party’s position to hang corruption tag on the president.
Appearing on Peace Fm Kokroko morning show hosted by Kwami Sefa Kayi, Mr. Allotey Jacobs had said the political equalisation of the fight against corruption cannot help Ghana in anyway.
The former NDC chairman who appears on Peace fm morning show on Wednesdays as a social commentator and not as a representative of his party has contrary opinion to the party’s position mostly view as nationalistic incurred the wrath of the party with the NDC distancing itself from him.
He went on to say bluntly that “Kwami, I want to make this one clear, you cannot tag corruption against Nana Akufo-Addo.”
That apparently angered his party people who called for his dismissal.
But Allotey Jacobs who is nicknamed educated fisherman says nothing will take him from the path of truth.
