The Tafo Pankrono District Police Command has arrested one Suleman Gibril in connection with the murder of his rival, David Gyimah at Pankrono Kodua Junction, a suburb of Kumasi.
David, 32, was said to have died of his wounds after he was rushed to the Tafo Government Hospital on Monday around 5:30 pm by his lover, Mercy Osei, who lodged the complaint with the police.
Suleman Gibril, an ex-boyfriend of the complainant, was subsequently arrested at Atafua, near Asuofia in the Atwima Nwabiagya District of the Ashanti Region to assist the police in investigations.
He reportedly went to the home of Mercy Osei, who he has a child with the previous night to collect his television set.
According to reports, he threatened her to be wary of her relationship with David Gyimah.
According to the police, around 2:00 pm on Monday, January 8, 2018, Gibril went back to the complainant’s house to ostensibly pick his son.
Prior to his death, David lived in the same vicinity at Kodua Junction in Pankrono with Mercy Osei, the police said.
The police narrated that the wife of Gibril disclosed that she was ordered by her husband to wash his clothes, soaks and sneakers on Tuesday morning.
The police indicated that the woman denied seeing blood stains in the clothes, but admitted she washed them as ordered.
The suspect reportedly denied the offence and appealed to the police to arrest and question one Yaw Sarpong, aka 50 Cent and his wife over the murder of David Gyimah.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Tafo Government Hospital morgue, pending autopsy.
