Come Sunday, November 7, 2021 at the Word of Life Assemblies of God Church, Anaji in Takoradi, the much-awaited maiden edition of the Western Gospel Awards (WMA) will roll.
The event is expected to draw a huge crowd which includes stakeholders in the showbiz industry in Ghana, and will be a night to remember.
Organised by Prolific GH Entertainment, the awards ceremony is being organised to reward deserving gospel artistes in the region for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the progress of Ghana’s music industry.
According to the organisers, the event, aimed at celebrating and awarding excellence in the gospel music industry in the region, will be aired live on some selected radio and television stations in the region as well as social media platforms of Prolific GH Entertainment.
It will be hosted by celebrated media personality, John Kay and youth empowerment activist, Lady Reverend Princess Ada Ayoka.
Confirmed artistes billed to rock the event include Apostle Wosonyewana Yeboah, Rev. Charlie Sam, Pastor Joe Beecham and a host of others. They are expected to thrill fans with back-to-back performances.
According to the organisers, 24 industry players will be rewarded for their hard work, dedication and contribution to the gospel music industry.
Some of the categories are Western Female Gospel Artiste of the Year, Western Instrumentalist of the Year, Western Male Vocalist of the Year, Western Gospel Radio/TV Presenter of the Year, Western Denominational Choir of the Year and Western Gospel Traditional Song of Year, among others.
