Valentina Ofori Afriyie being consoled by family members
The wife of the late Asempa FM broadcast journalist, Kwadwo Asare Baffuor Acheampong (KABA), broke down in tears while mourning the death of her husband.
Valentina Ofori Afriyie was taken away from the forecourt of Multimedia Group at Kokomlemle in Accra on Saturday by some family members.
Valentina, who got married to KABA just a year ago, could not hold back her tears at the one-week observation.
The solemn programme was attended by people from all walks of life, including Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.
Dr Bawumia, on behalf of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), donated GH?5,000 towards the funeral of KABA.
He also announced that government would support the family and Multimedia Group ahead of the funeral.
He was accompanied by Deputy Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, National Youth Organizer, Sammy Awuku and other government officials.
Host of the late Asempa FM’s late afternoon political show, Ekosii Sen, Kwadwo Asare Baffour Acheampong, would be buried on December 16 in Accra.
The sudden demise of KABA has obviously terrified Valentina Ofori Afriyie, who has a daughter with the deceased.
KABA was rushed to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for emergency care after a short illness on Saturday, November 18, 2017, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

The mother of the late broadcaster, Felicia Amoabeng said that God has received her only son into his bosom.
Madam Felicia Amoabeng said she would not question God over the death of her son.
The mother, who rushed her son to the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital, in an earlier interview, revealed that her son died on her laps.
Madam Amoabeng, who spoke to adomonline.com, was hopeful she would one day meet her son KABA in heaven.
