Kaya Tour crew at Shai Hills
Kaya Tours Ghana Limited has organised a three-day trip to three destinations as part of this year’s Easter festivities.
Among destinations visited were Akosombo, Kwahu and Ada from April 19 to 21, and participants came from the UK, USA, Nigeria and Ghana, making up a total number of 52 persons.
They first stopped at Shai Hills Game Reserve on their way to Akosombo for a short hiking to the Mogo Hills, the ancestral home of the Krobos, and experienced wildlife like antelopes, baboons, caves and cultural remains.
The revellers were taken through some historic lessons about the people of Akwamu, the construction of the Akosombo dam and township.
At the Afrikiko River Front Hotel, they were treated to local foods such as waakye, jollof rice, banku and tilapia, as well as drinks such as fresh palm wine, pito, sobolo and coconut.
The team also had an experience of a lifetime as they cruised in a boat on the Volta Lake.
The second day of the tours had about 32 persons from Nigeria who joined their Ghanaian, British and American counterparts to the famous Kwahu Easter celebration.
In line with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture’s ‘see Ghana campaign’, the first stop was at Bunso Aboretum, where the tourists experienced the 320-metre long canopy walk soak in the breath-taking fauna and flora with a fascinating history.
The 44-seater Scania Marcopolo Intercity STC coach departed to Kwahu at the peak of the journey. The first stop was at the Obo, Kwahu, Air Jay Zipline and the 877 Steps, which required a lot of energy.
On the last day, the bus left Accra for Ada in what Kaya Tours termed as ‘rainbow sun set experience’.
The first stop was at the A1 raceway. The trip ended at Aqua Safari with a party, fun boat cruises, horse riding and other activities.
