Emmanuel Danso, a consultant for Contracta, a Brazilian firm working on the Kumasi Kejetia Bus Terminal project, has stated that the first phase of the project is about 95 percent complete.
He gave assurance that the remaining work would soon be executed by the contractor for the facility to be opened to the public.
“So far, the Brazilian firm has completed 95 percent of the Kejetia Bus Terminal project, and it’s left with just five prevent of works to be done there.
“Barring any last-minute hitches, the remaining works would be carried out perfectly so that that the facility would be opened to the public,” he noted.
Mr Danso disclosed that the contractor is currently working on the technical area which is an important component of the massive project.
Speaking to Nhyira Fm, Mr. Danso said the contractor has undertaken a professional work so far, adding that the facility meets international standards.
Touching on other issues, he debunked rumours that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government was distributing the stores among its members.
According to him, those spreading the reports want to create tension and confusion in the metropolis.
“The Kejetia stores are not being distributed to NPP members and sympathizers so you should treat the report with the contempt it deserves,” he said.
Mr Danso said owners of lockable stores that were relocated from the old Kejetia Bus Terminal would be given their stores in accordance with the agreement.
According to him, the details of the Kejetia store owners were captured by the city authorities for that particular exercise.
He stated that the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, declared that under no circumstances should anybody lose his or her store.
Mr Danso said the directive of the Asantehene would be strictly followed to avert any confusion upon the completion of the project.
He announced that the Kumasi Mayor, Osei Assibey Antwi, recently formed a committee to supervise the distribution of the stores to ensure peace in the city.
