KK Peprah
The good works of top businessman, Kwame Kyei (KK) Peprah, have been recognized by Ternopil National Economic University of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian tertiary institution will on June 23, this year confer an honorary doctorate degree on Mr KK Peprah for his exploits as building/construction materials dealer.
Consequently, the management of Confederation of Governance Assessment Institute (COGAI) – the body empowered to recommend people for doctorate degrees – under the auspices of Ukrainian Ministry of Education and Bureau of Research on Governance, Commerce and Administration (BORGCA) presented a citation signed by Professor Victor K Yankah in a ceremony in Accra recently.
Stating his impression about the recognition, the businessman noted, “This goes to show that hard work pays; it also suggests that society recognizes and rewards hard work and diligence. I am humbled by the acknowledgement; and I must say it will urge me on to go the extra mile.”
From humble beginnings, he has succeeded in opening many building materials retail shops and depots across the country, with three factories in Accra, Takoradi and Kumasi.
His target is to expand his businesses to absorb the youth across the country and has embarked on more corporate social responsibility exercises, particularly for the Osu Children’s Home, Nsawam Prisons, as well as the Nsawam Government Hospital.
The business mogul said in an interview that his desire to venture into business dates back to his days in second cycle (EMIT Commercial, Kaneshie) institution where he combined education and salesmanship effectively.
He said, “The youth should know that there is no shortcut to success. I will urge them to set targets and strive for excellence in their respective fields of endeavour. Hard work pays; they should work hard and God will reward them accordingly.”
Communication strategist of COGAI/BORGCA, Isaac Rockson, has observed, “This is an attestation of our quest to empower individuals and companies who excel in their respective fields.”
