SP Kofi Sarpong
SP Kofi Sarpong is preparing to stage an anticipated mammoth gospel concert next month.
The concert which is, among other objectives, to celebrate the music career of Kofi Sarpong, will be his first gospel concert in his nine-year-old music career.
He told NEWS-ONE last week Thursday that he waited that long to stage his own concert because it was difficult to get sponsorship.
According to him, he and his team had on several occasions been turned down when they approached corporate organisations for support to stage the gospel concert.
“It is all about who helps you to do it. You send proposals. They look at it. It is gospel, they turn it down. That’s what has kept us that long,” he revealed in an interview last interview.
But he added he will go ahead to organise the concert anyway.
“We have started with the little that we have. Maybe as time goes on we will have corporate bodies, entities or individuals who want to help will meet us half way,” he said.
The concert is scheduled for May 28, 2017 at the National Theatre in Accra. It will officially be launched on April 27 at the Alisa Hotel in Accra.
Other award-winning gospel stars who will perform at the event include Ohemaa Mercy, Joyce Blessing, Abena Ruth and a host of others.
