Kojo Ampah
Ghanaian highlife/afro pop musician, Kojo Ampah, has released his new hit single titled ‘Asonkulele’ to entertain his fans, this Christmas.
Produced by Ericus, the song which has been equipped with good and danceable highlife rhythms and inspired lyrics is targeted to hit all highlife music audience.
The new single is part of the songs on his upcoming album to be released next year.
According to him, he has one other single to be released in December, before the release of his new album.
Kojo Ampah, however, expressed optimism that his new single would do well on the Ghanaian scene.
Known on the music scene as Asonkulele man, Ampah is currently in the studio working on his new album.
He told BEATWAVES that he was missing in action mainly because he had to concentrate on some private projects.
“I have a strong feeling that my single which is yet to hit the market, would meet the demand of music lovers,” he added.
His consistency as a highlife musician has made a tremendous impact, motivating and inspiring many music lovers who believed his songs were very good.
The talented musician, who was groomed by Abrantie Amakye Dede for 17 years, is not a stranger to Ghana’s music industry as he had in the past shared the stage with the likes of Kwaisey Pee, Daasebre Dwamena, Kwabena Kwabena, Lee Dodou, Dada KD and a whole lot of other big names.
His vision is to inject new sounds into Ghana’s music landscape, experimenting with a potpourri of music styles generally absent from releases of Ghanaian artistes.
Though his songs are not so different from the usual contemporary highlife composition of his type of music, the general orchestration, instrumentation and lyrical delivery are quite interesting.
