George Amoako
KUMASI ASANTE Kotoko CEO, George Amoako, has openly complained bitterly about how his team missed begging chances on Sunday in a continental fixture.
Kotoko, against all odds, travelled from Ghana to Cameroon to whip home-based team Canon Sport 3-2 in the first leg of Africa Confederation Cup eliminator.
But the Kotoko CEO said he was not overly impressed about how Kotoko strikers blew away begging chances, which came their way during the game.
George Amoako said some of the chances were even easier to score than to miss, but surprisingly the Kotoko attackers failed to connect them.
He was of the view that Kotoko could have won the game with a goal harvest but lack of precision on the part of Kotoko strikers denied the team more goals.
“We squandered begging chances during the game and that is bad, especially in a continental match. Our players need to concentrate on the game.
“I hope the head coach saw how we missed begging chances during the game and he will quickly work on it before the second leg takes place in Kumasi”.
Despite the missing chances, George Amoako said he was impressed about how Kotoko controlled the game from the start to the finish, even though they were the away team.
