Kwesi Appiah
Former president John Kuffuor has said plainly that he wants Kwasi Appiah back as Black Stars coach.
He said his record with the Stars, qualifying them to their third streak World Cup well ahead of time is enough evidence of his capabilities.
He told the media when the family of departed coach Sam Arday called on him at his residence at the Airport Residential Area yesterday that “ I support him hundred percent. I believe he will do exceptionally well, I believe in Kwasi but we must pay him as we pay our expatriates to deliver.”
“I don’t know why we believe it is only the white man who can coach the Stars, I don’t understand that aspect of Ghanaians.”
Appiah, who led Ghana to the Brazil 2014 World Cup is now sojourning in Sudan and is among the tall list of coaches applying for the vacant Stars job.
If he gets the nod, he will step into the shoes of Israeli trainer Avram Grant, who succeeded Appiah after the Brazil disaster.
