The Ashanti Regional branch of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) is ready to host the party’s upcoming extraordinary conference.

This was disclosed by Sam Pyne, the regional secretary of the party.

He announced that the conference, slated for this weekend, would take place at the Heroes Park – which is behind the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

According to him, electronic gadgets, speakers, chairs and other amenities, which are needed to make the event successful, had all been put in place already.

Mr Sam Pyne also said accommodation, vehicles to convey the NPP delegates to the venue and all other facilities had also been made available.

According to the Ashanti Regional NPP scribe, security arrangements had been made in order to ensure that the conference becomes incident-free.

Speaking on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, Mr Sam Pyne announced that the conference would kick-start at 8:00 am on Sunday and so delegates should take note.

He explained that the day’s event would be a continuation of the party’s conference at Cape Coast, Central Regional capital, which took place in August, this year.

He indicated that Sunday’s conference would be used by the party to amend some aspects of its constitution.

Key members of the NPP, including President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, Vice President Dr. Bawumia, ex-President Kufuor, the party’s executives and Members of Parliament (MPs), as well as ministers of state are expected to be in attendance.
