Kwabena Kwabena
Renowned highlife musician, Kwabena Kwabena, has condemned men who engage in romantic relationships with their wives’ closest friends or family members, describing such conduct as deeply hurtful, immoral and destructive.
The singer made the remarks during an interview on Hitz FM last week while discussing the storyline behind his iconic hit ‘Aso’, which he recently remixed with Stonebwoy and Kofi Kinaata.
Kwabena Kwabena observed that infidelity remains a common challenge in relationships and is not confined to one gender. Although ‘Aso’ largely explores adultery from a male perspective, he emphasised that betrayal affects both men and women equally.
“It swings both ways,” he said. “Apart from telling the Aso story for the men, of course because I’m a man, I will tell it from a man’s perspective. I mean it’s something that happens both ways.”
In a lighthearted yet pointed comment, the highlife star criticised husbands who take infidelity a step further by having affairs with their wives’ best friends or close relatives, noting that such actions intensify the pain of betrayal.
“The betrayal is far more painful when it involves someone close,” he added. “There are guys who are chopping their wives’ best friends and close relations you guys have to stop that,” he concluded.
