The DCE cut the sod, flanked by the chiefs of Abetifi
Chief of Abetifi-Kwahu, Nana Asiedu Agyemang, has said the government’s decision to allow the construction of ultra-modern administration block for the Kwahu East District Assembly is refreshing.
According to him, the district, created by ex-President Kufuor during the NPP administration, does not have any permanent place to work from and that attempts to get the previous NDC administration to get them a new office fell on deaf ears.
Nana Asiedu Agyemang made the comment when the Kwahu East District Chief Executive, Isaac Agyapong, cut the sod for the construction of a new assembly complex to be financed by the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development.
The Abetifihene, who doubles as the Abontendomhene of the Kwahu Traditional Council, said that during the 2016 electioneering campaign President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo promised to get them an administration block, noting that he (president) was fulfilling his promise.
Mr Isaac Agyapong, in a brief remark, said that the district was experiencing rapid development and becoming a major economic and educational hub in the country. He urged the private sector to take advantage of the available opportunities.
He said the new administration block, expected to be completed in the next six months, would have 24 offices and a-150 seating capacity conference hall.
The DCE said the district was working hard to ensure that President Akufo-Addo’s vision of job creation and the building of a prosperous country become a reality.
