Kwaisey Pee
Highlife musician, Kwaisey Pee, has taken legal action against the organisers of the Ghana Music Awards Europe, accusing them of breaching a performance agreement ahead of this year’s event.
Speaking in an interview with Nana Romeo on OKAY FM on 2 November 2025, the award-winning singer revealed that the organisers failed to honour their commitments, leaving him sidelined just days before the show.
According to Kwaisey Pee, the organisers initially approached him to perform at the awards night, and both parties reached a mutual agreement. However, communication reportedly broke down as the event date approached.
“They reached out to me to perform during the awards night, and we all came to an agreement. When the time was almost due, I wasn’t hearing from them regarding plane tickets, advance payment, and accommodation,” he explained.
He added that his management eventually contacted the organisers three days before the event, only to be informed that they could no longer work with him.
Despite this, promotional materials released by the organisers still featured his image.
“…so my management reached out to them three days before the event, and that was when they told us they couldn’t work with me anymore. Meanwhile, they were using my picture to promote the event,” he said.
Kwaisey Pee described the situation as disrespectful to his brand, emphasising that the organisers’ actions were a deliberate attempt to exploit his image for publicity.
He confirmed that his management has issued the Ghana Music Awards Europe team a 14-day ultimatum to respond to the lawsuit.
“They didn’t even give me prior notice. Aside from that, they didn’t remove my picture from the promotional flyers on their platforms. It is very disrespectful and a deliberate attempt to use my image for their own gain.
“I have served them, and they have seen it. So we have given them the 14-day deadline. If they don’t respond, we will take the necessary action,” he added.
