Achimota’s Ladies Monthly Medal golf competition has taken a new twist with the September edition at the Club few days ago.
It is now referred to as the Couples Greensome Mode which pairs a male and a female to battle their counterparts for supremacy.
Aku Yabah partnered Frank Avorsey perfectly to win the maiden edition with a 66 score.
Seasoned golfer Emos Korblah teamed up with Eileen Conteh to finish in second place with a 69 score, while Quinton Sherlock and Mary Werner followed after recording a 70 score.
Lady Captain Peace Akwei mentioned that the innovation was to create more excitement and competitiveness in the growing competition.
Sponsor of the event Constant K. Hometowu, Justice of the High Court said “Sports concerns all of us, so I saw it more of a duty and a responsibility to support it when I was approached. I have a strong desire for sports and I am looking at the possibility of doing it on constant basis.”
