Lady Missing After Visiting Boyfriend

Missing: Mariama Ibrahim

Family members of a 27-year-old woman, Mariama Ibrahim, have reported her missing after she reportedly disappeared under unclear circumstances at Effiakuma, a suburb of Takoradi in the Western Region.

The case was formally reported to the Ghana Police Service on March 4, 2026, following growing concern among relatives and residents in the area over her sudden disappearance.

According to the family, rumours had been circulating in the community that Mariama had gone missing after visiting the residence of her boyfriend in Effiakuma.

Her sister, Salamatu Suriyah Ibrahim, together with Priscilla Amponsah and Karen Donkor, subsequently lodged an official complaint with the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in Sekondi.

In their statement to the police, the family explained that Mariama Ibrahim was last seen on February 28, 2026, after leaving her boyfriend’s house.

They indicated that she had visited her boyfriend, Tijani Mohammed, on February 25, 2026, and stayed with him until the morning of February 28.

According to the report, she left the residence at about 10:00 a.m. for an unknown destination but has not been seen or heard from since.

The family further revealed that all attempts to contact her have failed, as her mobile phone has remained switched off since the day she went missing.

“All efforts to reach her phone number have proved futile, as the phone remains switched off and her whereabouts are currently unknown,” the family stated in their report to the police.

Deeply worried about her safety, the family has appealed to members of the public to support ongoing efforts to locate her. They urged anyone with information that could assist the police in tracing Mariama Ibrahim’s whereabouts to come forward.

The case is currently under investigation by the police.

Meanwhile, the DAILY GUIDE has gathered that Mariama’s boyfriend, Tijani Mohammed, is cooperating with investigators as they work to determine the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.
