Lawrencia Owusu
Renowned make-up artist Lawrencia Owusu is the current reigning Ghana Make-Up Awards artist of the year, and many are wondering who will take over from her at 2018 edition of the awards ceremony.
This year’s award will take place on April 28 at the Kempinski Gold Coast Hotel in Accra and there is a huge anticipation over who will win what.
The make-up artist of the year category is one of the most contested categories of the award and this year is no different.
The category is currently being keenly contested by influential make-up brands – Valerie Lawson (mzl4wson), Nancy Chinalurum Ogbonna (Nancyblaq), Sandra Don Arthur (alexandrinamakeup) and Marfoa Acheampong (touchmakeupartistry).
One of the above brands will take over from Lawrencia Owusu.
NEWS-ONE’s last week reports captured Valerie Lawson as the reigning 2017 Ghana Make-Up Awards artist of the year instead of Lawrencia Owusu, whose brand name is Lawrebabe_mua on Instagram.
She emerged winner of the category at the maiden edition of the Ghana Make-Up Awards in 2017.
“She won based on her exceptional skill across editorial, bridal and celebrity make-up and her nine years of experience as at the time of the competition,” Rebecca Donkoh, CEO of Make-Up Ghana, organiser of the awards, revealed.
Lawrencia Owusu got into make-up as a result of her love for painting, when she discovered a new type of canvas; the human face. Throughout her journey as a benefit cosmetics brand manager in MACYS Beauty Department and manager (beauty) for Look Boutique in Duane Reade, Lawrencia got the opportunity to train and work with brands such as Benefit Cosmetics (USA), Cargo (USA), Elizabeth Arden(USA), Vera Moore(USA), Fashion Fair (USA), Dermablend (USA), Becca Cosmetics (USA), Strivec-tin (USA) and Balm Cosmetics (USA). She is also a trained RAMY Brow specialist.
