A former finance lecturer at the Presbyterian University College (PUC), Tema Campus, Yaw Ohemeng Kyei, has donated items to the inmates of the Accra Psychiatric Hospital to mark his birthday.

Mr Ohemeng Kyei also provided lunch for the inmates, danced, interacted and made merry with them. He adopted one of the wards in the facility, assuring that he would help to provide the necessary items and drugs needed to take care of the inmates.

Speaking to DAILY GUIDE, he revealed, “I am subscriber of the paper who was touched by a publication in the paper that the facility even lacks A4 sheets among other logistics. I took the decision to spend my birthday with the inmates who I consider to be great people with great future and destinies.”

He expressed his appreciation to God for adding another year to his life and for the opportunity to share with the needy and less-privileged in society.

George Arthur, a member of the hospital’s communication team who received the items, thanked the lecturer for the kind gesture.

He further called on corporate Ghana and Ghanaians living abroad to emulate the worthy example of Mr Ohemeng and assist the facility with the needed drugs for the inmates.
