Love Is Not For Me In This Lifetime – Tiwa Savage

Tiwa Savage

In a raw and emotional revelation, Nigerian music icon, Tiwa Savage, has admitted that she no longer believes she will ever find true romantic love.

Speaking in an interview with British-Nigerian media personality ZeZe Mills, the award-winning singer peeled back the layers of her glamorous public life to reveal a deeply personal truth: despite her fame, fortune, and success, she has never truly felt loved by a partner.

Reflecting on her 2013–2018 marriage to Tunji Balogun, popularly known as Teebillz, Tiwa said she once believed she had found love, only to later realise it was nothing more than fleeting infatuation.

Now a devoted mother to her 10-year-old son, Jamil, she says he is the only source of pure, unconditional love in her life.

“I don’t think I’ve been loved for a very long time. I don’t think I’ve experienced true love apart from my son,” Tiwa confessed. “Every time I look back at my relationship, I realise that it wasn’t love, it was just infatuation.”

After years of heartbreak and disappointment, Tiwa has resigned herself to the idea that romantic love may simply not be written in her stars.

“I don’t think I’ve experienced that soulmate thing,” she admitted, her voice heavy with resignation. “I’ve tried over and over again. I don’t think love is for me in this lifetime.”

Her words, stripped of celebrity gloss, echo with the pain of a woman who has seen the fragility of romance up close — and decided she will no longer chase an illusion.
