There was a mad rush for nomination forms of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Western Region yesterday as the party opened nominations for the regional executive elections slated for April this year.
The party opened nominations on Monday throughout the country; and it is expected to run till Friday, March 23, 2018.
Several party faithful were seen at the regional office struggling to pick the forms when DAILY GUIDE visited the place yesterday.
Many of them, including some incumbent executives, queued up to pick the nomination forms for their re-election. Some of them came to pick the forms on behalf of some of the aspirants.
As at 2:00 pm yesterday, as many as 36 people had already picked forms to contest for the 10 positions of the party in the region.
Some of the activists noted that the rush for the nomination forms was a clear indication that many people in the region were willing to work for the party to retain power in the 2020 general election.
Issah Fuseini, a member of the regional communications team of the party, picked 10 forms on behalf of some aspirants.
He mentioned the aspirants as  Ndede Siah, the current Regional First Vice Chairman of the party who is aspiring to become the Regional Chairman; Charles Bissue, who is also seeking re-election as Regional Secretary and Mohammed Abdul Ganiyu, aspiring Regional Organizer.
The rest are James Obeng, contesting for the First Vice Chairman position; Abena Kwallah, vying for Second Vice Chairperson position and Juliana Aidoo, contesting for the Regional Women’s Organizer slot.
He also mentioned Samuel Adu Adjei, for the position of Deputy Regional Secretary; Benjamin Paa Kwesi Moses, for the Youth Organizer slot and Alhaji Alhassan Abdul Rahman, for Regional Nassara Coordinator.
Meanwhile, the Chairperson of the Regional Election Committee of the party, Hajia Sawudatu, had advised the aspirants to engage in clean campaign.
