Man, 22, Stabbed To Death

 

A 22-YEAR-old man, identified as Prince Appiah, has been stabbed to death by his friend, one Amartey, following a misunderstanding which led to a fierce fight.

Prince was stabbed on the left side of his ribs and started bleeding profusely. He was rushed to the hospital where he gave up the ghost while being treated by medical personnel.

Amartey, the prime suspect, has since gone into hiding to avert arrest. The police at the Appiadu Police Station in Kumasi, are doing their utmost best to nab Amartey to face the law.

A police document, which has been sighted by the DAILY GUIDE, said the bloody incident happened at a mechanic shop at Emena near Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi on September 3, 2025.

“On 03/09/2025 at 1405 hours, Mary Ohemeng, a 48-year-old unemployed woman of Emena was accompanied by Regina Frema to Appiadu Police Station.

“The former reported that about 1000 hours of the same date, her son Prince Appiah, aged 22 and a driver’s mate, was stabbed with a knife by Amartey in an auto mechanic shop at Emena.

“Her son was rushed to Anninwah Medical Centre, where he was admitted for treatment,” the police report disclosed, adding that upon receipt of the complaint, police together with the complainant proceeded to the said hospital where the victim was declared dead whilst receiving treatment.

According to the police, they proceeded to the morgue of the said health facility and found the “deceased’s body lying supine on a stretcher with a lacerated left hypochondriac region,” adding that investigations were extended to the crime scene.

“Preliminary investigations revealed that, there ensued a misunderstanding between Amartey (suspect) and Prince (deceased) which ended in a fierce fight, during which Prince was stabbed by Amartey. He later died at the hospital whilst receiving treatment.

“Enquiries were extended to the crime scene but the offensive weapon used in perpetrating the crime could not be found,” the police statement disclosed.

It added that “investigations were extended to the house and suspected hideous of suspect Amartey, but he was not found,” indicating that “strenuous efforts are being made to get him apprehended.”
