THE POLICE at Nkrankwanta in the Dormaa West District in the Bono Region are investigating the circumstances under which a 35-year-old man allegedly killed another man before committing suicide.
The diseased suspect has been identified as Kwasi Lobi who is said to have inflicted machete wounds on one Baba Mbiri leading to his death on a farm last Sunday.
Both bodies have been deposited at the Dormaa Presby Hospital for autopsy pending further investigations, according to police sources.
Preliminary police investigation shows that Baba Mbiri and his brother Kwasi Mbiri went to the farm last Sunday at about 9 am. Later, one Kofi Anni rushed back home and reported that Lobi had butchered Baba on the farm after a misunderstanding had ensued between them. He said there were machete wounds on the head, left arm and right ribs of the victim.
According to the police, it was one Kwasi Yeboah from Kwakuanya who reported the incident to the police at Nkrankwanta when he rushed to the farm to find Baba in a pool of blood before being rushed to Nkrankwanta Hospital but was later pronounced dead by Dr. Dennis Asarba.
After committing the act, Lobi escaped into a nearby forest at Kwakuanya. In the evening of the same day, his body was also found hanging on a guava tree.
The Bono Regional Police Spokesman, Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong, confirmed the sad story to DAILY GUIDE and said investigation was underway.
