Man Assaulted For Ejecting Cigarette Seller

A 40-YEAR-old man has suffered a deep cut on his face after he attempted to prevent a cigarette and toffee dealer from selling products in front of his landlord’s house.

Edem Yeboah, the victim, was reportedly attacked with a sharp cutlass by a friend of the cigarette dealer, one Kwadwo Mensah, 22, who has since been apprehended by the police.

The incident, according to Suame District Police statement, happened at Kronum Abuohia in Kumasi. Edem Yeboah was rushed to the hospital for treatment by medical professionals.

“On 06/03/2026, at 8:30 p.m. Edem Yeboah, aged 40 years, a resident of Kronum Abuohia, with deep cut on his forehead and blood oozing from it, came to the station.

“He reported that on same day about 8:00 p.m., he saw a certain young man he can identify when seen, selling cigarette and toffees at the frontage of his landlord’s house in Kronum.

“That in an attempt to sack the said seller, his friend, one Kwadwo, confronted and inflicted cutlass wound on his forehead,” the police report, sighted by the paper, indicated.

According to the police, statement was obtained from the complainant, after which a police medical report form was issued to him to seek immediate medical treatment.

“Suspect Kwadwo Mensah, 22 years old, has been arrested and is in police custody assisting in investigations,” the police statement concluded.
