The police in Liberia have arrested one Yakubu who is suspected have killed a 40-year old alleged ‘black marketer’ on May 1, 2017 in Takoradi.
The deceased Alhassan Zambrama, believed to be a Nigerian, was found beheaded in his room at East Tanokrom near Takoradi on May Day.
ASP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, Western Regional Police PRO explained that at about 7:20 am on Monday, one Fuseini Ibrahim a landlord of House Number Pt.197 East Tanokrom, visited the police charge office in the area to report about the murder case.
According to the landlord, at about 5:20 am on that fateful day, when he returned from the mosque he was informed that his tenant Alhassan Zambrama had been killed in his room.
He said he quickly rushed to the police station to report the case and later the body was conveyed and deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital mortuary at Sekondi for preservation and autopsy.
The Regional Police PRO indicated that the police were making every effort to apprehend Yakubu and one other, who were suspected to have carried out the alleged barbaric act.
She revealed that suspect Yakubu was arrested at his hide out at Merelane in Liberia and that efforts were being made to bring him back to Ghana.
She pointed out also that the police had managed to retrieve one sharp machete with blood stains when they visited the crime scene.
