The police are currently investigating the unnatural death of a 31-year-old man who allegedly collapsed and died while having sexual intercourse with his girlfriend.
It reportedly happened at John Teye area, near the Ofankor Barrier in Accra.
The deceased, identified as Divine Kwame Avortri – a staff with the Pharmacy Department of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission Hospital – according to reports, collapsed on his 26-year-old girlfriend (name withheld) in her room.
Reports received indicated that on Sunday, January 7, 2018 Kwame Avortri visited the girlfriend when the incident occurred.
During the visit, he allegedly complained of headache and took some painkillers before the sexual act.
Another medicine suspected to be a sex booster, was discovered in the bag of the deceased, together with the pain killer he allegedly took before his death.
Sources claimed that Kwame Avortri might have taken the booster while on his way to the lady’s house since four out of the six tablets of the said medicine had already been taken out.
An eyewitness account indicated that Divine Avortri visited the girlfriend around 6pm that Sunday when he met his untimely death.
A search in his bag – which was still in his girlfriend’s room – led to the discovery of the two different medicines, two Tecno mobile phones and an amount of GH¢160.
When contacted, the Accra Regional Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Effia Tenge, said the matter was being investigated by the police.
According to her, the police had invited Avortri’s girlfriend to assist in investigating the incident while they wait for the autopsy report of the deceased to conclude their investigation.
