Napo and other NPP executives from Manhyia South during a prayer session in one of the churches
Many churches in the Manhyia South Constituency have prayed fervently to God to protect and bless president-elect, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
During the Sunday service, the congregants prayed to God for direction, wisdom, vision and strength for Nana Akufo-Addo so that his incoming government would be successful.
They said the prayers after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Manhyia South, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, visited about 12 churches in his constituency on Sunday.
The MP, popularly known as ‘Napo,’ who retained his seat in the just-ended parliamentary polls, visited the churches ostensibly to thank God for helping Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to win the general elections.
He visited the Church of Pentecost, CPC, Faith Gospel Church, CPC, Assemblies of God Church, Krofrom, Methodist Church, Dichemso and the Apostolic Church of Ghana, Ash Town, among others.
The hardworking lawmaker, who had promoted unity in the NPP in the Manhyia South Constituency since he became MP in 2009, was accompanied to the churches by key party executives and supporters.
Napo, in his address, told the congregants that he visited churches before the polls and prayed to God to help Nana Akufo-Addo to win the 2016 elections.
According to him, God had answered his prayers and as a staunch Christian, it was prudent for him to visit the churches again to thank God for His invaluable support which helped the NPP to win the polls.
Napo said it would be inappropriate for him to refuse to visit the churches to thank God for supporting the NPP before, during and after the elections.
The Manhyia South MP stated categorically that Nana Akufo-Addo has competent people to improve the fortunes of the country, saying without God there is noting that man can do so support Nana Addo with prayers.”
