The new police station
REPORTED CASES of violent crimes and other illegal activities are set to drop at Manso Nkran in the Amansie South District, in the Ashanti Region.
This has become possible following the commissioning of a new police station in the farming community to help boost law and order.
The chiefs in the area provided land for the government, who through the District Assembly, ensured the construction of the modern police station to deal with all forms of crime.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) in the area, Clement Opoku Gyamfi, tasked the police to work towards identifying criminals before they strike.
He also admonished residents of Amansie South District to assist the police by providing them with information about criminals so they (police) could apprehend them.
“The police would be dealing with crime and security so let’s make their work easier by assisting them with vital information about criminal activities”, the DCE appealed.
According to him, ensuring total security is a shared responsibility between the police and the public therefore, the people should cooperate with the police at all times.
Mr. Opoku Gyamfi lauded the chiefs of the area, notably the Omanhene of Manso Nkwanta, Nana Bi Kusi Appiah for supporting the building of the police station.
Deputy Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, George Mireku Duker, also lauded the chiefs for assisting the government and the assembly to build the police station.
He pointed out that the opening of the new police station would go a long way to help in the fight against crime and other illegal activities in the district.
