Actor Don Little has shared insights into the early challenges faced by his colleague Dr Likee, also known as Ras Nene, as he embarked on his acting career.

According to Don Little, Dr Likee initially faced significant doubt and discrimination within the industry, with many people questioning his comedic talent.

In an interview shared by EdHud on X, Don Little recalled that during the early days of YouTube content creation in Ghana, he and another actor, Nana Yeboah, were the prominent faces of the “Ghana We Dey” channel.

When Dr Likee joined the team, his arrival was met with resistance, leading to halted shoots and discussions about his fit with the group.

“There was a director nicknamed 925, a lady named Sadat, and another person managing the Ghana We Dey YouTube channel. Nana Yeboah and I were the major creators on that channel,” Don Little recounted.

“When Dr Likee came on board, there was trouble. People felt that Dr Likee wasn’t funny, so they didn’t want to shoot with him,” he added.

Despite the skepticism, Nana Yeboah stepped in to support Dr Likee, even offering to split his pay to ensure that Dr Likee could stay on the team.

“Nana Yeboah stood up and said, ‘Fine, let him stay on board, split my pay and give him the other half,'” Don Little revealed, noting that this gesture helped forge a stronger bond between Dr Likee and Nana Yeboah.

As a result, Don Little chose to step back from the channel to allow the duo to work together more effectively.

“Sadat even called me thinking I had left out of spite, but I explained that Dr Likee and Nana Yeboah made a better pairing, so they should use him,” he explained.

Don Little also mentioned that it was Sadat who coined the now-famous name “Dr Likee.” He praised Dr Likee’s hard work and perseverance, which have ultimately led to his current success in the Ghanaian entertainment industry.

Dr Likee has since become a beloved figure in the industry, known for his unique brand of comedy and resilience in overcoming the initial challenges he faced.
