GHANAIAN STUDENTS studying in the University of Memphis in the United States (US) are giving a good account of themselves to the delight of the school authorities.
Due to their positive behaviour and good academic performances, the authorities of the university are hankering to get more Ghanaian students in their school in the coming years.
The President of the University of Memphis, Dr. Bill Hardgrave, disclosed that he is highly impressed with the positive behaviour of the 150 Ghanaian students currently in the school.
“I would love to have more students from Ghana in my school in the coming years. They are great people, very hard working and disciplined. We have 150 Ghanaian students and the number should increase,” he said.
Dr. Hardgrave gave the positive remarks about the Ghanaian students when the New Patriotic Party (NPP) running mate, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, aka Napo, visited the University of Memphis.
On his part, Dr. David J. Russomanno, the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost, University of Memphis, commended Ghana for its strategic partnership with the university.
He lauded the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, for playing a significant role in helping to get more Ghanaian students enrolled in the University of Memphis, to enable them realise their academic goals.
“When Otumfuo visited University of Memphis, we had just five Ghanaian students studying in our school, but now the number has increased to 150 students,” Dr. Russomanno remarked.
Dr. Prempeh, in his succinct remarks, stated that he was highly impressed and delighted to learn that Ghanaian students in the University of Memphis are doing great.
