The new GOC in a photograph with Mess Tennis executives
THE NEW General Officer Commanding (GOC) the Central Command of the Ghana Armed Forces, Brigadier-General Cosmos B. Alhassan, has been briefed about the numerous projects that have taken place at the Mess Tennis Club in recent years.
This was when the executives of 4 Garrison Officers Mess Tennis Club in Kumasi paid a courtesy call on him at his office on Monday. The historic visit was used by the leadership of Mess Tennis to officially welcome the army chief, who assumed office recently, into the city.
The new army commander was briefed about the ultra-modern club house, which is nearing completion at the club, fencing of the tennis court and the construction of a toilet facility, among of a host of other laudable projects, which had enhanced the image of the club.
Samuel Ampadu-Kyei aka ‘Kyikyiss’, who is the President of Mess Tennis, on behalf of club, officially congratulated and also welcomed the new army chief to the city, and promised that the club and its members would offer unalloyed support to him.
Brig. Gen. Cosmos B. Alhassan, on his part said, the military would collaborate with Mess Tennis officials to help promote the game of tennis in Kumasi and Ashanti Region in general, just as his predecessor, Brig. Gen. Joseph Adu Boampong did.
He showered praises on Mess Tennis members over the laudable projects that they have initiated in recent times to boost the image of the club, stressing the need for them to sustain their splendid works to help make the club a tourist center in Kumasi.
