THE 4 GARRISON Officers Mess Tennis Club, in Kumasi, maintained their impressive form as they whitewashed visiting Hill Club 19-5 in a singles and doubles tennis championship, held in Kumasi.

The home team did not show any mercy to their hapless opponents whom they walloped 11-1 in the singles edition of the Rush Energy Tennis Championship, which was played at the Mess Tennis Club.
Mess Tennis, which paraded crack tennis stars, repeated the dose to Hill Club in the doubles category of the championship by 8-4, to carry the day in a grand style, to the delight of the teeming home fans.
The Tournament, which attracted huge patronage, was sponsored by Rush Energy Drink and supported by Cowbell Milk, Isaac Books & Stationeries, Starlife Assurance and Universal Merchant Bank.
The Chairman of Hill Club, Mr. Francis Kouffie, congratulated Mess Tennis Club for putting up a splendid tennis display to win both the singles and the doubles editions of the tournament.
On behalf of members of his club that journeyed to the Ashanti regional capital, Kumasi, for the tournament, he expressed his profound appreciation and gratitude to Mess Tennis Club for the warm reception.
Mr. Kouffie also showered praises on Rush Energy Drink and all the other sponsors for supporting the growth of tennis as a sport in the country, noting that he was impressed about the output of both clubs.
The chairman of Hill Club used the occasion to passionately appeal to well-to-do individuals in society and corporate organizations to sponsor tennis tournaments so that the sport would rapidly grow in the country.
