One of the spectators’ stands. INSET: Isaac Kwame Asiamah, his team and the contractor at the site
Youth & Sports Minister Isaac Kwame Asiamah has hailed the contractor working on the Nyinahin Multipurpose Youth & Resource Centre.
On Monday, the minister and his entourage visited the site in the Ashanti Region.
It was the minister’s second visit after cutting sod for the project.
He was highly impressed with the state of work done by the contractor and urged the rest of the contractors to follow suit.
“This is my second visit, and I commend the contractor for his high sense of creativity, innovation and enterprise. I saw a huge challenge during the first visit but the contractor has turned the challenges to a golden opportunity. I’ m very excited with his high sense of creativity. Also, I’m happy with the employment these multipurpose complexes are offering,” he indicated.
Mr. Asiamah added, “With the completion of the complex, school sports would be enhanced and the President believes in reviving sports across the country because these complexes can host the regional sports festivals. The President wants to use sports as a tool in crime prevention because sport is critical for national development.”
“I will urge the various contractors to emulate what the Nyinahyin contractor has done, and I’ m happy with the cooperation between the various contractors,” he said.
The 5,000- capacity sports complex would house a FIFA-standard football pitch, athletics tracks, court for volleyball and basketball, ICT and counseling centres, a restaurant and offices.
