MPs Endorse Alfred Boye For Accra NPP

About 80 percent of the 21 New Patriotic Party (NPP) Members of Parliament (MPs) in the Greater Accra Region have endorsed Alfred Boye, acting regional chairman, to become the party’s substantive regional chairman.

Mr. Boye, who took over from the regional chairman, Ishmael Ashitey – now regional minister – as the acting Greater Accra regional chairman of the NPP, is seen by many as a “tried and tested leader,” making him the preferred candidate for the position.

The two-time Ledzokuku Constituency chairman of the NPP, is considered among his peers to be affable, humble and team player, with very strong organizational skills.

He was the Greater Accra Regional 1st vice chairman of the party and according to Nii Kwartei Titus Glover, Deputy Minister of Transport and MP for Tema East Mr Alfred Boye is one of the stalwarts who used their businesses and intellectual skills to raise funds for the NPP during the 2016 parliamentary and presidential elections, Mr Boye has appealed to the delegates of the party to vote for him in the primary to be held sometime next month to increase the party’s parliamentary majority and retain President Nana Akufo-Addo in power.

The NPP will between April 21 and 24 this year, go to the polls to elect regional executives who will steer the affairs of the party in the 10 regions for the next four years.

The acting Regional NPP chairman is being challenged by Divine Otoo, defeated parliamentary candidate for Sege; Isaac Amoo, former MP for Ayawaso West Wuogon and Archibald Kobina, outgoing regional organiser and regional NADMO co-ordinator.
