Mr. Drew Gifts Royalties To Highly Spiritual Music

Mr. Drew

Afrobeats musician, Mr. Drew, has said he would leave his share of the royalties earned on his music with his former record label, Highly Spiritual.

This, according to him, is to show his gratitude to the label.

“I want to use this platform to thank Highly Spiritual Music, especially Papa Kaywa for working with me for five years. It’s not been easy and I want to say thank you to him. I am even leaving my share of royalties with them. I feel like that should be part of my way of being grateful and saying thank you to Highly Spiritual. I leave everything to him,” he said in an interview with Giovani Caleb on TV3.

Mr. Drew parted ways with the label a few months ago after his five-year contract had expired. There were speculations that he refused to renew his contract because of alleged bad blood.

A subsequent comment by Drew indicating he would have rejected his five-year contract if he had a proper legal understanding of the contract at the time has since been raising eyebrows.

But he says there is no bad blood and now he wants to give up his royalties to show gratitude.
