MTN Commended For Supporting Festivals

 

 

The Paramount Chief of Essikado Traditional Area in the Western Region, Nana Kobina Nketsia V has praised MTN Ghana for its consistent support of traditional festivals.

He said MTN’s sustained support for traditional festivals underscores its commitment to cultural development and unity.

The Paramount Chief made the commendation when the leading telecommunication company donated a cheque of GH¢30,000 to the Paramount Chief to support this year’s Kuntum festival of the chiefs and people of Essikado.

The company also gave the Paramount Chief, GH¢2,000 worth of airtime and a hamper of assorted drinks.

He said, “the initiative by MTN affirms the company’s commitment to cultural preservation and community engagement”.

“I saw you supporting Nana Kodwo Conduah and the Edina Traditional Council in the Central Region during their Bakatue Festival.

“It will be great if all traditional festivals in the country are branded MTN festivals”, he pointed out.

He thanked the company for supporting this year’s Kuntum festival adding, “But for your support a football competition as part of the celebration would have been cancelled”.

He implored MTN to continue to improve on its services to the satisfactory of majority of its customers.

Senior Manager of MTN, Western and Central Regions, Prince Owusu Nyarko, said festivals bring development and unite the people hence, the need to support such initiatives

He noted that MTN is an African company and believes in the culture of the people. “So we are here to wish Nana happy anniversary and to donate GH¢30,000, GH¢2,000 worth of airtime and a hamper of drinks”.

He said MTN will be present at this year’s Kuntum festival and use the festival as an opportunity to enhance customer experience.

“We will create stands to enable our customers have access to MTN services”, he indicated.

Personal Assistant to the Paramount Chief, Emmanuel Bissue, mentioned other activities for the celebration as Candle Light Procession, ‘By the Fire Side’, Indoor Games, Health Walk and Thanksgiving Service.
