MD for MultiChoice Mr. Okyere donating the DSTV, Dish and Decoder to the Ghana Prison Service Officials
MultiChoice Ghana Limited has donated a DSTV, dish decoder to inmates of the Senior Correctional Centre formerly known as Borstal Institute for Juvenile Correction in Accra.
MultiChoice Managing Director, Alex Okyere said the Juvenile Correctional Institute under the Ghana Prisons Service established for people who are under 18 years old and have been convicted of criminal or civil offences cannot be left out as the MultiChoice company is bent on ensuring every nook and cranny gets to benefit from the various curated programme designed for the viewing pleasure of Ghanaians.
“These products from MultiChoice presented to you allow all inmates to watch our Ghanaian content from an African perspective. This provides entertainment, information, and teaches significant lessons about everyday life,” he said.
Mr. Okyere also stated that the kind donation by the company marked the 30th milestone of the satellite television operating firm.
He added, “You now can watch the foreign leagues and our latest local channels Akwaaba, Abusua and Akwaaba Magic on this decoder.”
He also charged the inmates to hone their skills and talents saying they should engage in meaningful sporting endeavours while at the centre and practice what they are proficient at.
“I will urge you all to be obedient to your supervisors and pay attention to whatever they tell you,” he admonished the youngsters.
The Deputy Superintendent of Prisons at the centre, DSP Abass Bio Samah expressed appreciation to the company for donating the decoder and dish.
“With this equipment, these young ones can now learn more on screen and improve their talents for society,” he stated.
He also appealed to society to support adolescents and teenagers in borstal homes.
